Man Steals Virgin Mary Statue and Paints It As A Clown

An Austin, Minn., man admitted to that on July 29 he broke into a cemetery and stole a 5-foot statue of the Virgin Mary. Then, he painted it to resemble a clown, before stashing it at his girlfriend's house in her closet. He was found out when someone saw pictures of him and the statue on MySpace.

I'm curious. Why did he paint the statue as a clown?!
