Babel Causes Seizures
May 4th 2007 09:41
I was watching tv last night when tuned into the news. Did anybody else also hear or read about what happened to a number of Japanese after they watched Babel? The news said that quite a number of people got physically ill after seeing the movie, the disco scene in particular. If you haven't seen the movie, the disco scene was shot with a lot of strobe lights. Japanese authorities think that the strobes caused the illness. I'm just wondering why this only happened to the Japanese. A lot of people have seen the film and there were no reports of seizures due to that scene. I find it so weird and now I'm thinking that maybe there's something in their brains which gets so easily stimulated by strobe effects because this also happened to some Japanese kids when they watched Pokemon if I remember it correctly. Just something to ponder on.

saw the film, and although the strobes were annoying sometimes, I never had a seizure...
But then again, weren't these the same people who bought lambs and thought they had purchased white poodles???
I think there may be a connection here...
LOL
Great post!
Take care,
Nick
